Essays can pop up in just about any class and, as an instructor myself, nothing impresses me more than a student who can write a good essay from the onset. I know it impresses employers as well, as so few people really know how to write one let alone write one that stands out and maybe even entertains the reader a bit, which you will learn about here in this 30 page guide.
Almost every job now-a-days requires some sort of written communication or presentational task, so essay writing is an important part of your education regardless of your major!
As a long time creative writing teacher who has written numerous non-fiction books on writing, I am here to help you become one of those rare people who can easily communicate ideas succinctly and with authority. (Hopefully without blood, sweat, and tears.)
In general, essays are easy to write once you know and follow a few simple steps. Step by step is how you do it, don’t look at the whole picture and get overwhelmed. Just take it step by step and it will seem much easier.
There are many sites out there showing you how to do APA and MLA formatting… www.citationmachine.net will even do it for you! That’s not what this guide is about.
This guide is meant to help you actually sit down and get the essay done. It’s like having me, a mentor, sitting next to you cheering you on. Get over blocks, get motivated, get tips from someone with experience who can answer those un-asked questions. I have helped thousands of writers get their non-fiction and fiction books written, now I want to help the college student ‘get-er-done’. This book is a way for me to reach those who can’t afford my private coaching.
